Top 10 Best Baby Products

There are so many baby products on the market these days. When I got pregnant, I immediately started looking at baby products and I felt so overwhelmed. There are so many products and so many different brands of each product. How are we, as new moms, supposed to know which is best? I spent so much time researching products before purchasing them for ourselves. So after testing out a ton of baby gear and baby products, I’ve compiled a list of my top ten products with my own personal reviews on each!

mamaroo

1. 4moms Mamaroo Swing
Alright, this swing is an absolute life saver! That’s why it is #1 on my list.
First of all, the mamaroo has a sleek design. I really try to avoid baby gear that has lots of crazy colors. { I got the plain black mamaroo, but it comes in a few other colors } Second, this swing is super high tech. It has 6 different swing settings, like car ride & kangaroo. It also has music, which I think is so cool. It has a few options, like white noise and a lullaby, but my personal favorite is playing my own music. You can plug your phone right into the swing and play your own music for your baby. Lastly, the swing is just super comfortable. Amelia falls asleep in it all the time. I can’t tell you enough… this is a must have. Being able to put Amelia in it and do stuff around the house has kept me sane and helped out so much!

dockatot

2. Dock-a-tot
Okay so this one we went back and forth with purchasing. If you haven’t heard of dock-a-tot, it’s a multifunctional lounger. It was originally created with co-sleeping in mind, but it has evolved to become so much more than that. It’s super cozy, it feels like your baby is getting hugged on all sides. I think for my baby, she feels more secure when she’s inside the dock-a-tot versus just being placed in her big crib. It’s also perfect to just throw on the couch and put your baby in when you’re doing things around the house. It also has the option of added a toy arch to keep your little one preoccupied. We personally love it because it’s so portable. If Amelia falls asleep in it on the couch, we can pick it up by the handles and move her to anther room where it’s quieter. We swear by this product. I also LOVE that you can buy different covers and they come in the cutest colors and patterns. Amelia was sleeping ~6 hours through the night by the time she was 1 month old. I don’t think that would have been possible without the dock-a-tot.

halobassinet

3. Halo Bassinet
The Halo bassinet is really popular. When I was looking at bassinets, there weren’t very many options. This seemed like a no-brainer. After having an unexpected c-section, I was so glad we had this product. The Halo bassinet sits on a stand and hovers over the edge of the bed. It can be swiveled 360 degrees around and the sides can be easily pushed down for picking up your baby while sitting in bed. I love that it has a few extra features built in, like the fact that it vibrates and has a light to shine on your baby when you can’t see them in the dark. The Halo bassinet is not a “must have” but I can definitely say that it’s worth the money, especially if you have a c-section. It makes your life a little bit easier. And in the middle of the night, when you’re running on an empty tank, not having to get out of bed to get your baby makes all the difference in the world.

seadreamsoother

4. Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother
The sea dreams soother SAVES LIVES. I swear by this thing. Amelia could be screaming bloody murder, but the second I turn this thing on and it catches her attention, she is happy as a clam. I love that it has different noise options {our favorite is the white noise}. The sea dreams soother is better than just any old sound machine because Amelia gets so mesmerized from watching the little underwater creatures moving around in there. It’s also great because it comes with a strap for you to attach it to your baby’s crib.

hatch

5. Hatch Baby Scale
Okay, when I was pregnant I thought having a baby scale was so unnecessary. Why would I need a scale? They weigh her every time we go to the doctors anyways! Boy was I wrong. When we first brought Amelia home, she wasn’t gaining the weight that the doctors wanted her to. The pediatrician wanted me to bring her in 3 times a week just to weigh her. While recovering from a c-section, and running on no sleep, that just wasn’t ideal. We decided to get the Hatch baby scale. It’s one of the coolest gadgets we have. It’s super convenient because it doubles as a changing pad, so every morning when I change Amelia out of her jammies, I just go on the app on my phone and I can check her weight. The app is really cool, too. You can save your baby’s weight whenever you take it, and you can take their picture for that day. It’s cool to scroll through the days and see pictures of when your baby was smaller. The app also shows what percentile your baby is in for their age and weight. It has a lot of other features as well, like recording their feedings, sleep, and diaper changes if that’s something you want to keep track of. Again, it’s not something that you NEED to have, but it’s super convenient, and a small sense of relief when you see your baby gaining the weight that they should be!

pipa

6. Nuna Pipa Carseat
I couldn’t say enough good things about this infant carseat. Nuna always has top notch products. Besides the fact that the pipa looks extremely fancy, it’s one of the safest infant carseats on the market. That’s what sold me. The base for the pipa has an extra leg that stretches down to the floor of your car, stabilizing your carseat. The pipa is also extremely lightweight, weighing in at 7.9 lbs. Amelia loves this carseat, and she falls asleep the second we put her in it. She seems so cozy. I love that this carseat comes with an infant insert. The insert supports your baby when they’re still tiny, and then you can remove it and they can grow with their carseat. Last, but certainly not least, this carseat is a breeze to install. It took us about 3 minutes to install it. And there are levels on each side of the base to show you that it’s installed properly. We love it and highly recommend this carseat for your infant!!

diaper bag

7. Skiphop Chelsea Diaper Bag
Skiphop is another one of my favorite brands. All of their products have such clean and neutral designs. The Chelsea diaper bag is, in my opinion, the best diaper bag on the market. It’s plain black, which I love. I’m all about the all black everything. This diaper bag also doesn’t even look like a diaper bag. It’s really chic and could be worn with your sweats or worn when you’re all dressed up. It has lots of pockets on the inside and on the outside which is nice because I like all my stuff to be separated. Love this!!

bamboobies

8. Bamboobies
Okay, let’s get real here ladies. If you breastfeed, you NEED boob pads. It’s just not optional. I’ve tried a few different kinds, but the Bamboobies are the best by far. These pads have a super soft fabric on one side, and then a tougher fabric on the other. The fabrics that make up the Bamboobies make them as good as they are. I’ve tried other pads that are 100% cotton and milk just leaks through and ends up getting on my shirt anyways. What’s the point?! The fabric on the back side of the Bamboobies traps the milk in there so it doesn’t get to your shirt. These are much more expensive than other brands of boob pads, but you don’t need as many… and they actually work! Unless you want people staring at you in the grocery store for having wet circles on your shirt, I suggest you pick yourself up some Bamboobies.

halosleep

9. Halo Sleep Sack
Sleep sacks are hard to say they’re a “must have” because some babies just can’t stand being swaddled like that. Neil and I call them “straight jackets” because that’s really what they are! But if your baby can tolerate being put in a sleep sack, I highly recommend the Halo brand sleep sacks. When I was pregnant and looking online at sleep sacks, I liked the Halo ones but they were just so much more expensive than any other brand. I ended up buying different brands initially. I ended up getting a Halo sleep sack for free from the hospital where I delivered. We have about 5 off brand sleep sacks, and one Halo sleep sack. We use the Halo every single night. It just holds Amelia in there so much tighter and more secure. Once your babe starts moving and kicking, they will easily squirm their way out of most sleep sacks. The Halo is escape proof. Personally, we love swaddling Amelia before bed. Sometimes if she isn’t wearing one, she will wake herself up by squirming or flinching from a noise she hears and that’s the end of nap time. Having the sleep sack on her prevents that from happening and the Halo is just the most reliable for staying on her and keeping her calm!

ergo

10. ErgoBaby
Baby carriers are so great! I love baby wearing. Amelia loves to be held, and sometimes I can’t put her down all day and I get nothing done. Of coarse sometimes I don’t mind sitting on the couch all day cuddling with my daughter {who doesn’t} but there are just things that need to get done sometimes! The ErgoBaby is so great because it’s really easy to put on and to get your baby into, it has an infant insert that you can get so that you can start using it right away, and it has extra padding on your shoulders for when your babe starts to grow and gets heavy! We started off with just a baby wrap. Let me tell you… those things are a pain. They’re hard to put on, they’re hard to get your baby in and out of, and in my opinion you can really only use them when your babe is really small. Once they get bigger, wraps are just not as sturdy. We have the ErgoBaby 360 Cool Air. I like that it’s breathable for parent and baby!

So that’s all of them! My top 10 favorite baby products!!
I would absolutely love to hear from you guys on what your favorite baby products are. I’m always looking for things that make mom life easier and more convenient!
